About The Kids
No website about Laura would be complete without mention of her five kids:
Erik Oatman

Erik, the oldest at 23, graduated from UC Santa Cruz last year with a degree in Fine Arts. After living in Oakland for a while last year, he now lives in Santa Cruz and is working for Beckmann’s Bakery, while continuing to pursue his path as an artist and a musician.
Annalise Oatman

Our only daughter, Annalise, is now 22 years old, and in her final year at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. She will graduate with a Master’s in Philosophy this spring, and will spend the summer traveling in Italy, India and Spain. In August she will be volunteering with Manav Sadhna in Ahmedabad!

Dane, our 20-year-old, is back at home this year, with UCLA on hold in order to participate in the top-notch crew program at Orange Coast College. His goal is to transfer into one of 3 outstanding crew programs at Stanford, Berkeley or Washington. When not rowing, he is also pursuing a degree in Philosophy.

Our 19-year-old son, Scott, graduated from Corona Del Mar High School last year, and is now in his first year at UC Santa Cruz. He is majoring in Electronic Music, with a minor in 3-D Computer Animation, and will be studying art in Florence, Italy with his sister this summer.

Brett, having taken his GED test and completed high school after his sophomore year, is currently living at home and attending our local Orange Coast College. He plans on transferring in to a four-year university in fall of 2011, probably to one of the UC schools, with a major in Economics. He still gondoliers in his free time.
